RIP Frans De Waal, who was an inspiring figure not only for the science community but also for a lot of artists and creative people like me. We admire his unconventional, surprising but nevertheless very precise questions and conclusions. His elegant style of writing and his unique humor and integrity invited us all to do explorations on our own and were a friendly invitation for a lifelong learning. His books, presence and influence will stay. My deepest condolences to his family and his human and animal friends and colleagues.
